64bit xvid codec?

I’m ready to transition to using a Vista Ultimate build full time at home for all my TV, music, photo needs but the one thing holding me back is that I haven’t found a 64bit xvid codec. Can anyone point me to one? Thanks!

    Matt,

If you find one, PLEASE POST a link to it! I had Vistax64 installed on my (MS provided) Dell 370, but one of the two reasons I blew it away and installed 2005 Rollup2 was lack of Divx (the other being no TV out, but I can get hardware to get around that)

    So, if you find it…. :) :)

    Thanks

Found this in the beta newsgroups, haven’t tried it yet myself but others say it works.

Any feedback on this working? Trying to decide if I should install 64-bit or 32-bit version of Vista and this is the deciding factor.

Also, does this version allow fast-forwarding of xvid files in Media Center?

I can’t get xvid64 to install on Vista (yet). Ugh!

I`ve gotten xvid64 installed. I had to copy the files in place by hand, and then run the .inf from a command prompt I started with `run as administrator` to get around the UAP.

Unfortunately, it didn`t work quite as well as I hoped. I can now play xvid avis in Media Player, and I get thumbnails in MediaCenter, but the videos just show as black.

Ha! Funny, I happen to be hosting that file! Dunstan, from the folder name, is a guy at Doom9 that built this 64-bit version of Xvid.

He’s also made several other 64-bit version of VirtualDub-related things, namely:

    DGDecode64.zip
    DeGrainMedian64.zip
    Decomb.zip
    NicAudio64.zip
    NicAudio64src.zip
    UnDot64.zip
    UnDot64src.zip
    VSFilter64.zip
    ac3acm64.zip
    ac3acm64src.zip
    avisynth64.zip
    avsutil.zip
    decomb64src.zip
    degrainmediansrc.zip
    dgdecode64src.zip
    huffyuv.zip
    huffyuv64.zip
    lame64.zip
    libmmd.zip
    x264cli_x64.zip
    x264cli_x64src.zip
    x264vfw64.zip
    xvid64.zip
    xvid64src.zip
    xvid_encraw.zip
    xvid_encraw64.zip
    xvid_encraw_src.zip

All of which can be found at: http://okejl.dk/dunstan/

I hope they’re of use. Keep in mind, though, that I’m not personally responsible for any of the applications contained.

I haven’t found anything, but Sandboxie and Nero 7,
that is not working on Vista x64(Ultimate).
    I wasn’t looking for a XviD 64 Codec, because Codec-Installing on WMP11 in Vista doesn’t work properly,
so I installed ffdshow(tryouts beta3) and every Video works in the WMP(almost every video i found, but vcd and svcd).
