Scanning negatives

I have a bunch a large number of negatives (~12 rolls of film) that I want to get scanned so I can get pictures onto my Media Center.

Does anyone have recommendations for shops capable of doing this close to either Capitol Hill or Redmond?

Microsoft’s MCE PCs let you do the same thing but they don’t require any passwords to watch the content.

How to exit MCE 2005 with your remote.

I will post a longer post on this subject but just so you all know how to do it: How to exit MCE 2005 with your remote.

  1. Press the Green Button
  2. Press the left arrow on the remote
  3. Press the up arrow on the remote (only need to do this step if something (TV, Music, Video) is currently playing).
  4. Press OK
  5. Press OK

There is a long story behind this very little piece of UI that once I get through this week I’ll write up.

Though I am curious, how many readers figured this out on their own? How many didn’t?
